I guess your stages of reasoning were something like this:

Question: Who would beat, Carlsen or Nakamura?

Answer:

1)I'm American. Now this is very important.
2)Carlsen is Norwegian. Pass
3)Nakamura is American. Bingo!
4)American good.
5)Therefore Namakura good.

=Nakamura wins.

(This should also explain why Morphy is the best player to have ever lived according to some people.)

Instead, the stages should've been something like this:

1)Carlsen is WAY MUCH STRONGER than Nakamura.

=Carlsen wins.

Now that was easy 🙂

People think Morphy was the one of the best because he destroyed pretty much everyone he played. 😛

Carlsen would win. Nakamura is good but Carlsen is really good.

Lately he's been training with Kasparov, yielding downright amazing results.

I would like to see Nakamura win.
But it seems like swashbuckling tactics vs. sound positional play, the sound player wins. My money would be on Carlsen.

While Nakamura is strong, Carlsen is still a league above him. Nakamura just recently made Super GM, while Carlsen has proven himself an equal of Topalov, Anand, and Kramnik...

I dunno, what sort of time control is it? If it's an online 3 0 or less, Naka hands down. Anything else, Carlsen wins.

True. I doubt Carlsen could keep up with Nakamura in a one minute game!

I saw Nakamura and Carlsen play 3 0 for a while on ICC once. Magnus held his own, although Nakamura mated him in four moves at least once. 🙂

Four moves? Like Scholars mate, etc.? How could that have happened?
