A while back there was a checkmate in under 20 thread, so why not have one in under 10 moves.

Any normal player who developed his pieces properly and remotely knows a small bit of opening theory would know that a mate like that takes blunders by the alleged victim to be complete.
Because if there is a win in under 10 moves, someone seriously messed up.
