A strong players will know that white's chances usually lie on the queen side in the KID and black has his chances on the king side. Engines will lock pawns on the wrong side and leave his opponent with an initiative on the other wing.

Yes. There are two moves which I like to see White play - an early d5, blocking up the centre and allowing a Black knight to plonk itself on c5, and Rb1, which usually means White is going to play the queenside advance far too slowly.
