Hi,..excuse me,..this is just a rant,..to get it out of my system (pentium4)...I love this site,..but some people just get right up my nose!...Just made a wonderful mistake in one of my games,...blogged my opponent, basically to say,.."GRrrrrr...one mistake and game over!"...He/she..never answered, just kept moving,..I think some people are just a bit OTT and are more concerned with winning and ratings,..than playing and having a little bit of banter,...LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE!!!!!....perhaps I should start a "Rant" thread?...'cause I feel better now,....

If you have had a similar experience please feel free to rant here,....😲

Well sometimes i just forget to reply and then feel stupid and dont want to say that i forgot to reply on the next move... and i would feel even dumber ignoring that i waited a move to reply.

😀

Liked your reply...

Regarding the rant, I would say 'Don't expect a reply for every message that you send'

Read it in line with 'Don't expect to enjoy the fruits of your good deeds. Its all your karma' 😉

oh you made a fatal blunder, but deflect it with a rant about your opponent.

Play me. I don't have the foggiest notion how to talk during a game of chess.

It's kind of awkward to have to reply to that type of message anyway. I mean, what are you supposed to say, "Umm, yeah, that really was bad..."

I'll usually say something like, "Yeah, it happens sometimes". But I can see the urge not to reply at all, since it seems like the opponent is fishing for reassurance or something. Like when someone comes up to you saying, "Oh, I must just look terrible today," fully expecting you to tell them all about how great they actually look.

It's also possible that he/she received your frustrated growl as threatening and was scared. I mean, what would you do if someone growled at you in OTB play?

I'd take a page from Alekhine and urinate on the board.

He showed up to a tournament game once, very late and very drunk. He didn't play stellar chess and was defeated in short order, upon which he stood up, peed all over the board, and passed out in the nearest corner.

At least, that's the way it was told to me.

Yeah; they later named that move the "Alekhine Attack."

Very effective, too, at least for the next game. Opponent is so worried about being assaulted by bodily fluids that he can't concentrate.
