I know you shouldn't comment on a game in progress, but man, can I just hit resign on this game after that beyond terrible knight move? Chess is so unfair, I outplayed my opponent in every facet of the game until then, and I do ONE bad move, an obvious one at that, GAME OVER, he gets an UNDERSERVED win. I just wanted to develop that knight, and yeeehaw, one little knight of his beats my whole army after that move. God this game is frustrating and unfair. . .

Some really famous chess icon, whose name I forget, once said, "The winner of a chess game is the player who makes the second to last mistake."

It's just very frustrating, in RHP, you put days and efforts into a game you worked hard at and were winning throughout, and then you give your opponent a gift and he gets the win for playing like crap. Chess is definately not a game of justice, very frustrating, this is why I probably quit the game so much. Not only will I lose the exchange this game, but that yucky knight move allows him to get the pawn back, so I am down a total exchange, with no compensation whatsoever. I guess I'll play on, so at the very least my opponent has to work somewhat for his one move win, but other then that, pffff, this just sucks, lol. . .

Why you're ALWAYS whining about your chess?
I'm tired of reading your stupid whines about opponenets dragging the game, asking draws or get ''undeserved'' wins.

you give your opponent a gift and he gets the win for playing like crap
What does it means?!! If you've lost it means that the one playing crap was you.

If you spend more time thinking instead of whining you'd be better with your chess,in your profile you say you study chess 4 hours a day,pllllleeeease...........

undeserved?
Thats the wrong mentality. the game isn't over until the opponent is checkmated or resigns. you need to work (as we all do, me especially)
on your thought process. No-one 'deserves' to win a game because they played 99% better than their opponent.

Actually:

Moral of the story: Don't pine for sympathy on a chess forum (anywhere, in fact). If you deserve it, you'll get it.

Frustrating, of course. It would be nice if everybody could win all his games.

Unfair? What's unfair about it?

It's unfair in a sense I outplayed him in 99% of the game till this point, and he outplayed me in ONE move. Name me a single sport that allows the team who plays better 99% of the game to lose, that's why chess is a weird, yet unfair, game and can frustrate ppl. . .

i can name plenty of sports, soccer, grid iron, many team games where someone dominates the game ends up losing.

because you were dominating the game, doesnt always mean the other team/person is playing badly it just means that they had good defence.

Football/soccer. U can outplay your opponent for 89 minutes, but not score and then the opposition can score a flukey goal. Game over!!

Chess is infinitely fair. You get what u deserve everytime.
