Ready yourself for a lot of replies involving, "ring in your nose", "get a pair buddy", and "dump her then play all the chess you want" from the rowdies in these forums.
That said,TSaffle please post this in the general forum and get ready for a schooling.

My girlfriend gives me a lot of grief for playing chess a lot. She says its a sickness and has actually put a password on the computer so that when I'm at home I cannot check my games. Does anyone else have this problem?
My girlfriend complains occassionally about how much I play, but she is much more devious at times and waits for me to make an important move and then starts talking to distract me. I`ve lost a queen and a rook like that in the last few days.
My Golden Rule is: Don`t move when she is in the same room unless she is asleep (or pretending to be).
Let`s face it, you`d hate yourself for complaining that it was her fault you lost the game, so just blame yourself for breaking the rule. BE PROACTIVE!

Work out a schedule when you check your games with her, she might feel neglected if you are spending way too much time on this site. The password thing is a pretty broad hint that chess might be causing relationship problems.
My GF doesn't mind me playing and I show her games sometimes, which she likes. She knows how hard and stressful chess is, so she says "You play it so that I don't have to." She plays lots of other games, so that isn't such a weird comment from her.
