I'm away for a week but hope to see a victory for the Grob on my return.

Correction! I expect to see a victory.

Fancy that, z00t lost to a Mikey Mouse opening.

Oh dear! what is the excuse?

I like some of your Grob ideas. I must try and incorporate them into my games although I fear you are far better than me.

Actually my opening play in this game was far from perfect. After 10.cxd5? (instead of 10.0-0-0 with slightly better play) my opponent could get serious advantage with 11...Nc6!

I also realized that you castled real late on this game but couldn't find a way for black to explore it. And on a sidenote when are we going to see your annotations for the reversed Grob against David Tebb. I'm sure a lotta people are waiting for it. I know I am.

I have started my annotations but due to my gameload I still haven`t finished it.

That's a good thing. I thought that your game load was an impediment but still I had to ask. By the way how do you learn to annotate a game? I think that first you must have to learn how to play propper chess isn't it?

Right you are. Good annotator must have good understanding of chess. (good understanding and good play may not be the same).

I have read many books and many annotations. Especially i like annotations of Lasker, Tarrash, Nimzovitch, Alekhine, Bronstein, Tal and Kasparov. Also I like annotations of GM Shipov.

I'll try to find some of those books. Particularly the Lasker, Tal, Bronstein and Kasparov ones. And for now My System by Nimzo will have to do the trick for me.

    Thanks for the info. 🙂

Quoting my comment in first post of this thread after 5...Be6:

In well known game Basman – Keene, Manchester 1981 black did play 5…Bd6!? 6.Nc3 Ne7 7.g5 Be6 8.h4 Nf5 black got large advantage and won easily. After that game Keene declared that Grob is refuted, but this conclusion is not serious. - White should have play 7.Qb3! (instead of 7.g5?? and after 7….0-0 8.Bg5 f6 9.Bd2! white have some plus.
