luring Bobby Fischer yet again with handsome prize money? The last time I heard US$5M did the job well. And the world enjoyed such beautiful master pieces after his long absence. And apparently, the general concensus was that his ability was still 'perfect' after years in the chess wilderness. Just wonder how he would fare against Topalov and Kramnik...

LOL.... oh I didn't know that! Well, that would be yet another potentially good story for chess history. So far, the toilet debate has gone into the 'hall of fame', of chess history I think.

Hence the main point of this thread. If only someone can lure him back to the championship once again to find out whether 'is' or 'was'.

While Kasparov is still alive you might as well quit worrying about Fischer.

Besides Fischer is in exile in Iceland last time I heard. He won't play chess with anyone but Spassky and he will only play Fischer Random Chess, which really isn't chess.

hes done it before why do it again? when he left people wanted to know if he was still the best and he came back and proved he was the best. he's still the best, and doesn't have to pove himself again.

Fischer has long suffered from a fear of failure. I doubt that money can overcome this.

Does anyone actually think Fischer is better than Kasparov? I doubt Fischer could beat Anand.

Also Fischer has a lot of personal problems. On top of his fear of failure he is an anti-semitic jew, believe it or not. And he's spent the last several years narrowly succeeding at not getting extradited to US prisons.

I think that Fischer at his prime going head to head with Anand, Kramnik, Topalov.... would've been real nice.

but now he's just a silly jew-hating hermit

I doubt Fischer could even draw a modern day top GM less alone win.
