The Czechoslovian player Slubbin Chek v has worked out the maxium
number of possibly checks in a game. I cannot recall the exact figure
but if you send him some money he will send you the answer.
So check Czech Chek's checking checks and send him a cheque.
As the game is in progress, you should not be discussing this matter, as you are not allowed to seek assistance from a third party when a game is in progress.
I realise, by the way, you were not intending to gain an unfair advantage, but any discussions should really wait until after the game is over.

The rules of chess allow in principle to 'check' unlimited.
'In principle', because two other rules will apply to end the game earlier and not drag it out into infinity by either one of the players simply claiming a draw when the following happens:
* Fifty-move rule: There has been no capture or pawn move in the last fifty moves by each player.
* Threefold repetition: The same board position has occurred three times with the same player to move and all pieces having the same rights to move, including the right to castle or capture en passant.

thank you tharkesh, you were very specific...
despite that i find silly the fifty move rule and the unlimited check rule,if the oponent cant make a check mate because its obvious that he is looking for the wrong move
Actually some people think that, but if you check taking a piece or give a
check with a pawn or the King getting out check takes a piece or interposes
a pawn then the counting has to start all over again.
