Just by looking at the photos of him holding the pawn I would guess he's a pixie.

I found the line about: who ever heard of a Scottish World Chess Champion? to be interesting, as, before Carlson, who ever heard of a Norwegian GM!
But then, we have a purported Norwegian GM on RHP! And, he's even formed a clan! (And joined a few, including ours.)
