How can I avoid such exhaustion?

It is easier to just blunder into a mate in 1 as then I don't have to tire myself out trying to salvage things.
Maybe slim your 33 games down closer to 15 - it's very easy to handle.

or go the the other way. Shoot for 100+ concurrent games and don't worry about your rating!

250+ is the way to go.

There's always at least one game your winning.

I can compete with that!

So as the leader of the french defense clan, I requested that Russ or Chris set up a thematic french tournament which they did. I joined and my pairing in the first round included no one (other than me) above 1300.

To cut to the chase, check out move 9 ...
Game 2827934
after move 9 look at how easily he slaughters while abrely using his extra queen.

Now I am struggling just to advance to round 2
Gee, I feel better now. 😞

I had to learn the hard way. My advice is :

Have a maximum of 20 games on the go at any one time.
Set a minimum of 7 or 14 day TO for personal challenges, this seems to have the trick of slowing me down at least. Make the timebank the same.
Play opponents -200 points the same as you would play opponents +200 points.
Check the rating graph of your opponent too.

I notice there are more 7 day mininum timeframe clans starting up. i think this will be a continuing trend.

It doesn't seem to matter what the time controls are.

I can't stand having games waiting so I must get in there and move. Sometimes I am at work and rushed so don't think, just move. Sometimes my other half is chasing me so I do the first move that comes into my head. Sometimes I think I have a quick and easy win, so I play anything. Then when I have created a mess I have to spend ages trying to extricate myself which is mentally exhausting.

Analyse your move, write it in the notes section, close the game, come back the next day or a few hours later and run your error check. You'll eliminate 90% of your blunders. I migh add that, sound as this idea is, it's REALLY hard to make yourself do it every move!
