You can be caught napping and you need to have studied the latest. A good game in the zhaitsev featuring Larry Christiansen.

Can you kindly refrain from using ungentlemanly language on the forum. Any point you are making is lost.

There is a case for memorising but understanding is the way to go, in fact the Saint Louis Chess Club have got a video on this 🙂

Don't Memorize Moves! Understand your Openings | Road to 2000

You don't need to use un-gentlemanly language on the forum to back your point.

This is a discussion forum for chess and you should be able to back your (chess) points without childish language. Do you have any chess contribution to make? We are not on ICC.

You said you were just being a troll. You admitted it.

I was just commenting on what I have read over and over again. You were being and are being a jerk.

You gotta be yourself I suppose.

Years ago tried a bit of blindfold just to see if I could do it, I would do ok for a bit but then get lost in the middle game. Would always get focused on one part of the board but completely lose track of anything happening in other side. I've always approached chess calculation more like I would trying to look ahead and see how I would rearrange an algebraic equation.

I've now got a blindfold chess app 🙂 and I can practice openings/puzzles with the app which speaks the moves.
Visualisation is quite important in chess and we unknowingly practice this every time we think of move to make.
