Having just read a couple of threads about which books are best for beginners, tactics, endgames, etc. and furthermore by my status in chess as a very basic beginner I have to ask - Where the holy heck does anyone find these books in Dublin? The Eason's on O'Connell St. is garbage. So anyone have any suggestions? I hate having to order things and wait...

Which might tell me something about why my chess sucks...

If you don't mind waiting 3-4 days then try play.com they've got masses of books on there and it's free delivery - well to mainland UK anyway. Take a look mate, I've never had any problems with them.

I buy all my books online or at used book stores. Here in the states you used to be able to get good books at Barnes & Noble (and other retailers) but their selection gets smaller every year. www.wholesalechess.com, www.uscfsales.com and even Amazon.com are my most frequented chess book stores.

Thanks. Too bad though. I never buy things online. At least I never have. No credit cards and that sort of thing.
