Since when chess isn't a physical activity? Are you kinetically moving the pieces? Or perhaps verbally telling them where to move?
The fact that chess is considered a mind sport and the mental part behind it has a substantially bigger role, doesn't mean it wouldn't fit into dictionaries description of the word "sport"
