THEN, grasshopper, check onto the site just when the 24 hour tim ...[text shortened]... d to win on timeout, if at all possible." Then they can't complain when you do.

hey tmetzler......I read other members profiles when I'm playing them, or sometimes when I'm just bored....I can't tell you how many of them make that very same statement about how they will take wins by time out if the other player doesn't move, and many of them are up there in the big-boy rated category, so screw off.

And I why do you think they add that to their profile? To be a good sportsman. What could it hurt if you did? Nobody could complain then.

Screw off? I've been civil this whole time. I even apologized for my error. Why are you such a bitter SOB? If it wasn't so funny, t'd be sad.

I don't have a profile, don't want a profile, and I've already told everyone on the site what my policy is, it's the same as a lot of the players rated 2000 plus on RHP. So why am I taking heat from you? Go read the profiles of your big sportsman heroes who say they take T/O's immediately and never look back. What are you crying about tmexler? Sad because you have a sorry little rating?

Hahahaha..

That was pretty damn funny, even coming from a minimally-equipped bigot such as yourself.

Good one..

If he had a profile it would be something like

"I play 1/0 games and if you are 2 minutes late I will timeout. Also I don't want to play black people because they are just stupid and can't play chess everyone knows that."

Pretty mean Xanthos, I would never say anything like that about black people and chess. It's not true anyway, since there's been so many great black grand masters.

Oh I'm sorry I must have misread your posts about how dumb black people are.

Ouch that has to hurt. I will give people a day before I time them out but then again I send reminders and everything and plus I play a 3/7 timebank kind of game. So only a few of my games are won by timeouts. Just thought I might tell yall that. ooooo im special

It is okay to time someone out anytime.

It is just like sitting down to a 5 or 15 minute game and they run out of time.

in summary:

1. fine to time people out, it's the rules
2. polite to send a reminder first
3. if your main aim is to time people out to improve your rating - good luck to you, but it doesn't sound all that much fun

There's a big difference Dodgey.

When the big boys refer to T/Os, they're referring to tournament/clan games. Seeing as your military pension has been cut back, and u can't afford to subscribe, you're not playing either of those types of games here. You are on this site to play chess, not to manipulate the rules to get a high rating, so u can take the mickey out of people, who play the game as it should be played, with lower ratings. To time your moves in open challenges to try to catch your opponent out is just plain sad. 'Sad' is a word that seems to be associated with u alot. 'Pathetic' is another. Just one more would be 'racist'.

BTW: You haven't told everyone on the site, you've told the tiny percentage of people who read the thread where you were giving advice on how to cheat on here. If you wanted to tell everyone, you'd put something like your post into your profile.

It seems a bit odd that people accept games with such a short timeout /timebank such as 1/0 unless they know for sure they will be able to move in the specified time. Surely they know about the 'delete game' button.....

Some people send reminders, some don't. I fully expect to be timed out if I don't make a move within the agreed time. If I'm not timed out it's a bonus, if I am, I put it down to experience and either choose not to play that person again or choose a longer timebank next time.

It's cheap to time out some one if you haven't sent them a reminder and give them a chance to get it. But if you play some and they make a move every once in a while and you have a chance to time them out then I don't see anything wrong with it but thats only my opinion it may mean something and it may mean dick to others but w/e.

I agree but I will only send ONE reminder per game... And I don't feel bad about timing out someone...
