Bc3 or Bf4? It seems to me this is another game where Topalov seemed to have a superior position, but seems to have drifted into one where Kramnik controls most of the board and has the better chances.

Topa played 40 Bd3?! which gives Kramnik Nb4 but he has less than two minutes to find it.

EDIT: He did with 35 seconds to spare!

Topalov is in trouble; he cannot now regain the pawn and Black has a space advantage and a passed pawn. He does have the Bishop pair as compensation, but I think he's in an inferior position.

Be4 was better; White can hardly hope for more than a draw at that point. I think he'll be hard pressed to get the half point; after the a-pawn goes, the Knights are somewhat better with the pawns all on one side and Black will retain the pawn plus.
