Try the fact that electronic devices do not work in the bathrooms or anywhere else nearby because of interference created by the organizers.
Hehe, I'm just trying to explain the numbers. Nothing serious, I think this whole thing is riduculous.
But going into the washroom that many times and the reason being because of the extra walking room. Don't buy that.
What is more disturbing is that picture shown on chessbase of the demo board in rest room and the caption underneath, can you move the pieces?
That's like playing cc without books and with a short timer. Is this line good? Lets analyse it and start moving the pieces on the board. No wonder top level games are so good.
Originally posted by RahimKYes, i wonder if that would be legal. I suspect kramnik could probably analyse in his head just as well as he could on an analysis board...

Originally posted by RahimKThe rest areas have closed circuit TV monitors that are screened by the arbiters. The players are not allowed to use the demo boards; one of the match officials transfers the moves from the playing board to the demo board.

This conspiracy crap is getting ridiculous.

That is the picture.
Yes I see there is someone watching the room from overhead. Someone must come and move the pieces, clocks etc on the demo boards.
I see the players helpers in the rest room with them.
What kind of garbage is this?
What if the person watching has a favourite? Why bother with demo boards? What stops the player helpers from coming into the room, which they are allowed as I read, and talk with the players and help them out.
This whole setup is stupid.
Get 2 chairs, 1 board, 1 table, 1 clock, 1 washroom. Sit there and play. If you want a rest get up and walk around.
This whole garbage wouldn't have started if they didn't try to pamper the stars. Rest rooms, couches, give me a break!

Cut the crap.
EDIT: Rules of the Match 3.9.2: b) A player may talk only to an arbiter or communicate with a steward, or with his opponent as permitted by the Laws of Chess.

From what I read on Chessbase, the rest room is free for the players and helpers to leave and enter as they see fit. I also read that other people go in and out of the rest room, just random people. Can't it be possible that more then 1 person is in the rest room at a given moment? Don't people talk? I'm just throwing out ideas, i'm not saying its true. What was Kram. doing in the washroom? Cheating? Can't you read the rules, it says you shall not cheat. You get my point now?
What's with the rest room anyways and the demo boards? Besides using the washroom what more do you want?
Sit there and move, if you want to walk get up and pace. Big deal.
Edit: I just read the newest post on chessbase. This and this access and restroom. Seems like anyone can walk in the joint at the present time. Great security eh?

It's none of anybody's business what Kramnik does in the bathroom.

But after seeing what some people do in the bathroom in Otb tournaments, It has happened before to us, I am curious why someone would go into the bathroom that many times in 1 game.
From what I read, the bathrooms have a window and Topolav's bathroom window was left open. What if Kram. was open also and there were a person outside telling him what to play for some of the moves?
Not saying it happened but it is a possibility.
So what he does in the bathroom is an issue. That's why this whole thing started.
Edit: I mean if you are playing OTB in a big tourney for money and your opponent keeps going to the bathroom over and over again wouldn't you be curious? TD's now days are very suspicious of such behaviour and we have rule in place for such things. Our Canadian open was very strick and so is our club now days because ppl have abused the system.
Who cares if they are top players. I would still be curious and as you can see from the news, a lot of other players are also.
I could care less, I just hope who every wins, wins by a lot so the 1-0 forfeit game won't make a difference otherwise Fide will go down the tube. It's pretty bad already but it could be worse.

Everyone may I bring this to your attention. This is a real photograph. Taken the exact second Kirsan announces the forfeit decision (game 5) cannot be cancelled.

Real story. No photoshopping. Look at the background. This is unreal.

That is Danailov in the background, what a psycho.
Originally posted by tmetzlerNot just a psycho, a total idiot. I think whether or not the match finishes or kramnik wins, Topalov will be forced to either fire Danailov or be completely shunned in the chess world along with him. Nobody is going to work with Danailov after this, who needs the controversy???

Also is anybody else thinking the Russian mafia might put a well-deserved mark on him?
