It's always good to bring a little happiness into someone's life!!
I saw it in a chess mag. decades ago.
I think it's sometimes called something else.
Anyone else ever used it?

The Global opening was penned by IM Michael Basman in his book "The Killer Grob" circa 1991.

Eric Schiller also calls it the Creepy Crawly opening.

Great thread! I usually try main line Kings Indian with white going for bayonet attack but I have a terrible score with it. With black pieces my best result was a draw against caissad4. Perhaps the London is a less complicated way to play and a very good sideline?

From RHP game explorer...

RHP games black has the win advantage over white : 57 to 35

Masters black has the advantage 51 to 39.

Funny, change the move order and different results.

1.Nf3 Nf6 2.d4 g6 3.Bf4 Bg7

Now black has a 61 percent win record for RHP. White didn't show up.

I'm guessing if you want to win you should choose black.

I'm beginning to love one of Yasser Sierawan's early pet lines vs. The KID. It includes an early Rb1 with b4 and c5 ideas. It's the best plan I've seen against the symmetrical and looks simple and awesome against the KID.
Might be worth a look for some of you c4 players.
