No it seems to be the real thing, I cross checked with a google search and there is a link to that site from chessville: http://www.chessville.com/Bagheri/Miles-Short.htm; although you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page, the link at the top left of the page is for his other official website...
Well, you'd think he'd have something original to say in his post .... Ho hum.

I belive Amir Bargeri (sp?) plays at chesshere.com....

however, proving this poster, (or the player at chesshere for that matter) is the the real dude himself is another matter.

Amir Bagheri's email address is publically available:

iranbagh@yahoo.fr

But since this user doesn't appear to be playing here, but merely adv(ert)ising, I doubt it really matters.

I have to say, any top pointers that begin "a knight on the rim is grim" make me wonder, but I guess a GM addressing lower-rated players might consider that important advice.

Anyway, apologies if you are who you claim; you should know there have been many impersonators. If you are genuine, welcome, thanks, etc., and please consider playing here. If you aren't, then the opposite.

Some good advice, I have heard many of those tips before... Chess seems like a never ending game and I am always learning something new from my games... unfortunatley I don't have hours to spend on it each day... I may have an hour a day if I am lucky... and spending any more then 2 hours on chess is usually a bit mentally straining.

Its funny, the brain is like a muscle, you need to keep it in shape. Its really amazing how much chess is like a sport... you need to rest well and eat well or else your mind won't be in peak shape and you won't play your best... just like any sport.

This guy has to be the real deal! Nobody that professes a regard for Nigel Short's work can be a fake! (Plus, he quoted Tony Miles!)

But seriously, although I'd heard much of this advise before, I really enjoyed the posting, even if it might just be advertising for his site.

Ignore the drive by spammers, that dude has a trail from here to MonteCarlo and he is probably looking for suckers down the road. Tell him to get a rating here or on PlayChess and we will take him seriously. How comes a newly registered player readily supports a spammer? Or are they the same person?

Your spamming and that of your two buddies is not. How come people with move < 25 converge on this post?

we've had so many people claim to be a GM and give tips and whatnot but most of us wont believe that your a grandmaster until you get an established rating.

To z00t - Gee, lighten up, guy. All I said was that I enjoyed the post. For the record, I don't have any idea if the guy is legit or not, and I don't care. I have no intention of regularly visiting his site, since even if he is a real GM, the broken English wouldn't sit too well with me.

If the moderators want to bounce "Bagheri" for spamming, I couldn't care less. But I don't consider simply stating that I enjoyed the post to be spamming. And I also don't have any idea who chrissybear2100 is. So neither of the two of them is a "buddy" of mine. And I think you should be VERY careful of making accusations in a public forum that you can't prove. I have no idea if you're right about Bagheri and chrissy. For all I know, you might be. But you are most certainly wrong about me. And if you look very carefully, you'll see that I have greater than 25 moves (Although admittedly, 279 moves is not very many.) So unless you can prove a connection between me and the other two, which I know you cannot, then just quietly zip your mouth.

Are you a GM? If not, your answer to the question should be "I don't know, because I haven't yet managed to achieve the level of GM."

If you are, you should play a few games here so those of us who aren't GM's know whether to listen to your advice or not. Lots of people here talk alot, but only a few have ability enough to teach lessons. From what ...[text shortened]... out easy?

If it was me, don't worry. I'm not offended. Thanks for the advice.

Maybe you could fill out your profile...this will be of interest and it'll be good to have a GM playing and contributing to the forums.

On PlayChess the likes of Short, Adams and Nakamura play but they do not go round spamming internet chess forums. You are likely to be taken seriously if you do the talking with your pieces rather than your mouth.

Play 50-100 games here and also at PlayChess and people will take you a bit more seriously. I suppose anyone using the anonymity of the internet can claim to be Seirawan, Kasparov , Fischer etc However on PlayChess while genuine GMs have a free account, they have to provide proof of their credentials.

By the way I haven't looked at your links. Once I see you have 50-100 games here and on PlayChess, whistle and I'll come back.
