Hi Cludi - was just looking at the exchange sac part1 game - after this

    This is why it’s not very sound to take the pawn on d4. 12…Bd7 13.Bxd7 Kxd7 14.0-0! followed by Rad1 gives white dangerous play in d-file. Accepting the bishop sacrifice 14…Qxd2 won’t work because of 15.Rfd1 Qf4 16.Nxd5 exd5 17.Qxd5 Ke7 18.Rd4 +-

Am I correct that after 18..Qd6 19Re1 wins because the bishop on b4 is overloaded?

19.Re1 is indeed winnning, but 19.Qxb7+ wins the black queen...
18...Qd6?? is not the best for black. Probably 18...Qc7 is the best, but white still has the superior position.

Btw, it's very nice to be asked questions like this, but I would appreciate if they were posted on the blog where all readers have direct access to both question and answer πŸ™‚

    Thank you

Strong players like Korch and David Tebb have registered as users on my blog and started posting comments.
Can you afford to miss their comments?

    I don't think so...

There's also a famous footballer called 'Claus Jensen' who plays for Fulham in the English Premier League. You're not him, are you?

1874: Claus Jensen builds an organ for Malvik church

Throughout the 19th century, an increasing number of country churches invested in organs, and at Malvik the contract for an organ was signed in 1873. The builder was Claus Jensen, pronounced the greatest Norwegian artist in the field of organ building by the organ historian Stein Johannes Kolnes. In 1874, Claus Jensen was well established as an organ builder in Trondheim, and about midway into his career.

Malvik church is located in rural surroundings about 20 km east of Trondheim in central Norway. The present church dates from 1846, but there was an older church at the same site since 1656, and, reportedly, a mediæval stave church before that.

    You're not him, are you??

    I'll tell you a "secret":

Jensen is one of the most common surnames in Denmark.
Claus is a pretty normal first name in Denmark.

Combining these 2 facts will tell you, that out of the appr. 5 million danes, quite a few (or a few thousands, in fact!) are named Claus Jensen.

And finally: No, I'm not the Fulham soccer player Claus Jensen!
