anything is possible dragon "it's a secret" fire, just show me these database innovations, and this idea of a database being a study tool, one that translates into real improvement OTB. Apparently that's asking a bit much since nobody has been able to coherently and succinctly address this fundamental point. 🙄 and that you don't warn prospective players and opponents that you use databases and books in your profile is absurd and childish, certainly even you should understand this simple point.

I don't need to advise people in my profile that I use books and DBs (although actually I did do so and have only amended it as I am not currently taking on any further games) as it is allowed in accordance with the TOS and is acceptable and normal practice.

As far as the use of such tools translating into real OTB performance, I can only advise that after a long OTB decline from 2170 in 1986 to 1875 in 2006 it has improved to 1885 in 2007 and 1940 in 2008 and I am confident of an increase to 2000 in 2009 (increases in OTB grades happen slower than here due solely to the number of games played) and that grade is not significantly different to my grade here.

So what does that prove other than the use of books and DBs is a valid study tool that is helping my performance in CC and OTB.

OK. I think you are right - not unfair.

But do you support my suggestion of introducing random chess in RHP-not just the ability to play it, but organizing tournments etc.?
I believe lots and lots of RHP players would be inetersted in playing random chess tournments.
And more people will feel compelled to join RHP.
I don't really care. I don't play any form of ramdomised chess and won't be playing here much more. Having cancelled my subscription, tournaments are not really an issue for me.

All that for a less than 100 point OTB increase, which translates to a possible several hundred online here. Whatever. Thanks for being honest. But you're still missing a piece of the puzzle..

Have you broken your insult engine? You seem to be performing rather below par lately.

You really don't understand how to study with a database? It's like a guideline. You see that stronger players have played a certain move more than other moves so you start studying the position, trying to find the idea behind this move, checking it's pros and cons. It's not like you just look which move is played the most and then without any thinking play it out yourself. It's just like studying master games, except the fact that you are studying more than one at a time and all are nicely arranged. And of course, not always the line that's played the most is the best. Perhaps it was played a lot and only recently a refutation has been found. That's another thing that needs to be taken into account when using a database.

I hope this helps you understand the use of databases, I hope it helps you see why it's a study tool.

No, I actually enjoy reading his mindless drivel. Lately he seems to be less inventive though.

It would certainly help with his dubious spelling.
