Played at the same time as the loss Paulfics posted.
Very early games, possibly just getting used to the site
and moving as though they were blitz games.
This was a very lucky escape.
Capa is White. Black is 1243.
Check all Checks (else you might miss something good.....Black's 19th move.)
SmookieP could have obtained massive bragging rights had he seen it.

You sure that wasn't a coke bottle from 'The gods must be crazy'?

I just sent Delmer a PM to congratulate him on his victory of the top player on the site.
He hasn't posted since 2008, so he probably doesn't read these.
I invite others to do the same.
This chap should be able to exercise his bragging rights.
🙂
I Played Delmer a few years ago. He is a lot stronger a player than his rating shows.
He seems to be back moving, last move yesterday. Here is one game against a 1500 player:
Originally posted by sonhouse I thought the only really bad move for Delmer was move 48, should have just taken the knight instead of moving the rook.
"That" rook move, instead of the capture, only came to fruition some 10 moves later and promulgated the win. Says it all really without really saying it.

Yes but just knight takes knight would have won sooner I thought.
It looked to me like he had to go into another kind of fight at that point, for instance taking knight would have gone a long way to confining the king on that side of the board instead it was able to wander all over the place at will. There is something just intimidating about being three pieces up.

Agreed. You and I know and can see that, but then you and I are not capable of plying ten deep, are we ?? Again, it says it all.
Originally posted by sonhouse So how long will it be before they prove him to be using engines? I bet they are looking closely at his games. Might even be for real.
His games were looked at a long, long time ago.
"Zero tolerance" has become a crap shoot during Blue Moons with loaded dice, provided the admins remember to mark it off on the calendar.
[FEN "k7/p6p/2NN2p1/1n6/8/7P/R5P1/6K1 w - - 0 1"] 1. Ra6 {Of course 1.Ra5 works quicker but I am looking 12 moves deep! Now the Black King is stalemated and the Black Knight cannot move because of the mate on a7. } 1...g5 {White now burns up Black's pawn moves.} 2. g3 {If White takes the Knight then Kb7 and I cannot see a mate (though don't quote me) } 2...h6 3. Kh1 h5 4. Kg1 h4 5. g4 {Zuggers} 5...Nxd6 6. Rxa7

That wasn't looking 10 odd ply up, that was just luck. You and I would never have let it get that far. Nor Greenpawn from his analysis.
