Black has only one move : 9. ... Ne6 (since Be6 loses after Qxb7).

I agree Ne6 looks like the only move.

I'm surprised, I thought d4 was stronger.

And, I thought Nc3 would be the move.

This game has lost interest for me.

I'll check back in later in the week.

I don't see any reasonable alternative to Ne6.

What about g3 in response to
Be6 ?

g3 would still give a (strong) advantage to white, but far less than Qxb7 (or Bxe6 followed by Qxb7).

What if we try producing an "analysis tree" from this point... here's an example start...

9... Ne6
10. d4 Qd6
[Qd7 d5 (Bb5 a6 Bxc6 bc =) Na5 Qd3 Nxc4 Qxc4 c6 Nc3 =]
11. d5 Ne7
12. Bd2 Nc5
13. Qe3 +/-

I go for 10.d4 (although Nc3 and even d3 seem playable alternatives)

Not sure about the analysis line given above. The queen will probably move to the d-file (making room for the bishop, and pinning the d-pawn), but where to: Qd6, Qd7 or Qd8?

I agree with Varenka's analysis from last night.

But, I want to play Nc3.
