I have started playing the kings gambit as white and found it to be very fun and exciting I was wanting some suggestions and even your own game examples of a exciting replie to 1d4 for black. Thanks Kevin
KG players enjoy opening up lanes and the f-file, so the Dutch Defense presents itself
Originally posted by VincerinoYa I see what you are saying It does kinda but aganst 1400-1500 players it has worked well for me. I also do like the open position and the fact that it has worked out thus far that I delvope my pieces a lot faster than my oppenent. Also I have been able to sac my pieces to get a win which is very fun for me. I think it has just helped me to play a lot more agressive and creative chess. I am just looking for some opennings for black that do the same thing. Thanks Kevin(;
honestly i've been playing king's gambit for a quite awhile now...but now i find it really messes up both white's and black's position. such as fischer said in one of his books dedicated to just the king's gambit.

Or do we discuss Kings Indian?, a not so interesting opening...

You mean...Nf6...
Try the slav
The counter
1.d4...d5
2.c4...e5?! would be a more interesting try, leading to perhaps:
3.dxe5...d4
4.Nf3...Nc6
5.Bg5...f6
6.exf6...Nxf6
White to play:
Although white is up a pawn, I think attacking play like this could make a 1.d4 player rather uncomfortable, taking them out of their safety zone.
From here I'd try to get both bishops on active squares (c5 or d6 & f5 for instance) maybe castle QS & get rooks on 1/2 open e & f files as compensation for the pawn.
