Whats the point of having pawns on the board.

There basicly only there 4 pawn promotion.

I'm currently in a game where i have seven connected passed pawns, you do not mess with seven connected passed pawns.

Interesting. White wins a piece without problem, but I amafraid he cannot avoid exchange of queens and rooks, and the game is probably drawn. Any other ideas?
