It is called the transvestite because the male and female pieces are swapping roles.

I know a guy who is now about 2250 fide who used to frequently beat people with this opening as white and black.

I see that black is loosing some tempo in development and also the possiblility of castling. I think that if you have 300- 400 more rating points then your opponent, then it is quite playable...😉

Damn...so al those elementary puzzles that show this position and say "spot the mistake" are wrong...generations of chess players have been misinformed.

Here it is. 5 minute Blitz. My opponent's p1200 with a 100% record (played 1, won 1). Clearly strong.



Here's the annotation:

4... Clearly white is in zugzwang. Knowing this he sends a disgruntled message.
6. White tries to mix it up. From here on it's all technique for black.
22. "Looks like your computer primed that last move lol" (victim)
22..."It's actually a 23 move combo" (hunterknox)
30. Finally moving out of the book...
30... with disasterous consequences!

So it works for me but I'd like to know more of the theory. Anyone got a copy of "The Killer Transvestite" they want to lend me?

i used to try a thing like it for jokes, going c3 and f3, trying to switch them on the outside.. leads to nice self mutilation..
