It is rather patronising, playing for stalemate.
I find that the folks who play for stalemate are ones that are likely to miss it from the superior side. And when they're playing opponents of similar skill, then the stalemate trap may even work. I don't have any problems with people playing for stalemate.
On the flip side, Kasparov once acci ...[text shortened]... someone with K+Q+B vs. K in blitz. Big difference between cc and blitz, but still, whodathunkit?
Well, I think I know why people cheat. I played this Soul Saxy dude and he just kept on yapping instead of thinking. I couldn't believe him...he felt SO CONFIDENT!!! I knew then he was cheating.
I think people like Soul Saxy don't win too often and therefore miss the feeling of victory. That's the reason why he cheated, obviously....
but in fact he was cheating himself.
