Move 25 was the death of me - what i was thinking? π i dont know!! over confidence perhaps π³
What makes it worse is that he & I have played a total of 25 games now and thats the only one he has won so far - man did my rating take a beating :'( lol
now i know im no chess master but even i should have known better than this π³

Here's mine:Game 604572. A pawn up in a Rook endgame, I decided it would be a great idea to offer an exchange of Rooks (King endings a pawn up are normally easy wins). It slipped my mind that after he took my Rook, my King would be outside the square of his passed pawn and would immediately Queen. I wish i had the "Wild Turkey factor" excuse for this one, but it was old-fashioned chess blindness unaided by external factors.
I was playing a live game I'll never forget that belongs in this
thread. I had my queen and 5 pawns well posted, I had 10 mins
on my clock. The guy I was playing had his queen a pawn, and he
had 2 mins on his clock.
I had a major brain fart, I saw a great check, moved my queen to
do it, he took it off the board with his King. My queen was unprotected.
Then he destroys me! π
That happened 6 years ago, my blood pressure goes up even now
when I think about that!

This game makes me sick. It had a sort of interesting potential pin of his Queen on his King by my Rook which prevented him from taking my Bishop with his Pawn, but once that went it looked dead even (and boring) so I offered a draw. My opponent refused, and as it happened I gained enough material to win. Then, I threw the game away at least twice and lost. Don't know whether I was overconfident or just plain stupid, but that game hurt.
Kudos to my opponent for his fighting spirit.
