I don't think Rg1 mattered too much. I was going to play Rh4 next move no matter what.

I also think that 27.g3? was wrong as it is what allowed your mate but maybe 27.g4 was better I only analyzed what would happen if you tried a rook sac on g4 though so I don't know how good of a defense 27.g4 is.

g4 seems a little weak when you throw h5 at it. Creates another possible lane for a rook.

I was a little lucky he played into my plan. But sometimes that's all that matters. If he had played something different, I probably wouldn't have gotten a chance to post this, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. 😉

okay... I am just shooting in the dark here. I can't find a defense to it but maybe I'll go back further to see where white went wrong.
