How accurate are the ratings on this site. I play mostly on playchess and was wondering if I would obtain similar results here. Unfortunatley I do not play "real chess" here. I play as though i was in a simul, making my move instantly. Very bad habit. My rating on playchess is in the 1800s. Would i achieve the same results here (or better) assuming I am playing real chess.

One obvious difference making my playchess rating more volatile: I finish 1-3 games per week here, while I may play as many as 40 in an evening on playchess.
The play differs; the pools differ. Comparisons do not lead to predictive accuracy.
it also depends a lot from what kind of a player you are. if you keep blitzing your moves, I doubt you'll get more than 1500. -above 1600, mistakes will be caught and punished. if you take your pawn structure lightly, same thing.
if you're more of a strategic and positional player, you might even get a lot higher than on playchess. but playing fast you probably won't have a chance.
CC is just so different, a whole other game, that there's really no way of telling.

Also, not a lot of people play slow games at playchess. Here, they are all slow games.
My "slow" games are usually 16 - 20 minutes, not hours long and I often face opponents with 1600+ points. Here they would trash me, there I do better. My last game was against a 1900 points player and he was glad to get away with a draw by perpetual check. I was still very pleased with my performance against a 400 points higher player. :-)
As long as you play in a closed community like this one, the actual rating number is not interesting at all and cannot be compared to OTB (ELO) ratings obtained from clubs and national/international tournaments.
What is interesting is your rating compared to the other players in the community. On one site 1800 would perhaps be in the top 100, whereas other sites would probably have 100's of players rated 2200+.
It all depends on the rating system used, the relative number of games being timed out, the K-factor, the number of players in each rating range and several other things...
