The Playchess Freestyle tournament got me excited about centaurs, and I started playing in the engine room there. It is very hard to get a game as a centaur, but the few I've had have been instructive. In the meantime, I let an engine play on one of my accounts. It seems as if everyone has Rybka, making it nice when an old version of Hiarcs running on my P-III M gets the occasional draw or win.

The engines be sure that it is essentially blunder-free chess while the human provides the strategic guidance (assuming they are good enough).

Chess has a point? I guess it is less like fly fishing than I thought. Time to give it up, perhaps.

I've noticed. It seems that you are always there when I look in. 😉
