Don't worry, I'll represent for our beloved French.

well duh, the weaker players (such as myself) will screw it up...
i was referring more to Gm level and master level play where the tempo actually matters...
and i have never actually gone through this opening in practice...
just in study...
so i don't know what my fourth move is just yet...
I'll be watching with interest.

Oh, rubberchicken, feel free to use any databases or anything like that you want (besides engines). I'll play from memory, but to make up for your lack of theory, feel free to look it up.
i never use databases...
the only thing resembling this is a miniature Neil McDonald concise chess openings book in tournaments...
ok, people...
we have come here...
moment of truth...
move 4...
i have some ideas...
one i am strongly considering, but the problem with it is that it seems too quiet to take advantage of the exra tempo...
almost any knight move will be met with a bishop pin, i am assuming...
so, as i figured, trying to make something of the one move advantage will be harder than I thought...

planning pawn to c3 if Nc6
i don't care if my opponent reads this, this game is more about proving an opening than determining which of us is better...
if Ciet Coke or anyone else offers advice to my opponent, that's fine by me...
though i would appreciate it if you would tell me so i can get some help from better friends to

Originally posted by Diet Cokeno kidding, and Umbrage of Snow still hasn't moved...
No they haven't.
he told me in the game hed be moving almost instanly because he has some experience against the Exchange, and knows what to expect...
i'm going to have to assume that either he became suddenly busy, or hasn't ever seen my 4. Bd3 move before...
the latter possibility could be a bad thing...
for me anyway...

Hey, I'm back, sorry about that, I had some non-chess stuff come up unexpectedly that I had to attend to, I just saw it, I'll be playing more now, sorry about that.
you said Bd3 is typical?
cool, like i said, I don't use databases outside of tournaments...
