Whilst @ZorrotheFox homes in on 1.75 million moves the million move crowd have just been joined by the their sixth member @lstcyr. He has pressed the accelerator over recent months and now has 2400+ games on the go with no sign (yet) of the time out crashes that plagued others who tried to handle such game loads.
Quite frankly I have no idea how they do it.
@Blanca is on the cusp of being the 7th and assuming success he will achieve it by a single minded focus on playing the Blackmar Diemer Gambit.
Kudos to all
@Ragwort
It would be interesting to hear from those million movers about how they budget their time and if they dream about chess
is it an obsession, a form of therapy or simply an escape?
or maybe just a bit of blitz chess, a mind stimulation, chess caffeine
@lemondrop
Well both Zorro and lstcyr have made 23000 moves so far this month. That is 1000 per day average @ 40+ per hour.
Astonishing.
@ragwort saidHeavy game loads for all. It takes a lot of discipline to keep this up. I know I couldn't do it.

Well, when I first started on this site, I thought 500k was many moves. Then, as I was moving along, I noticed I could break the millionth move. Marko Krale and I were ahead. Later, I overcame him. So, I am thinking why not slowed down. Along the way, you meet many Excellent, Good Players! Texasnurse and I have been friendly competitors along the way! She and I have been competing this month (January 2019). She is way ahead. Well, there were plenty of players making so many moves and breaking the millionth move barrier, so, why not go for the 2nd million. I have the time! Yes, I am retired and could play on this site two or three times a day. Yes, I am a blitz player! See: https://www.redhotpawn.com/forum/only-chess/1-000-000-moves-on-rhp.158315
Again, thank you Ragwort!
@ZorroTheFox
Thx have enjoyed our insanity fun games vs each other 🙂 time to start really chasing you down friendly of course for moves 😀
@Blanca now has less than 400 moves to go and @Zorrothefox and @texasnurse with over 30,000 moves this month alone could be at 2M and 1M respectively by the end of the year. Amazing.
@Ragwort
Yeah took 2 years to get my first 500k in so am look at end of year im way ahead pace wise than first
@WOLFE63
Alittle on here ive found most major tactical help on site called icc its all live games but yeah alot of games here the more play can tell seeing tactics quicker
@ragwort saidJust moments ago, texasnurse reached 36k and ZorroTheFox reached 32k for the month ending January 31, 2019. I attribute to texasnurse for her friendly competition for such a feat for me! My record was 24k on August 31, 2018!
