That's why I was asking if they re-released it in algebraic.

I'd say it fits in nicely right between Logical Chess and Most Instructive Games.

If not then Ebay and these other places.

    wait.....

Just googled it and found this.

    http://www.amazon.com/Chess-Master-vs-Amateur/dp/0486279472#_

it even lets you peek inside (descriptive) also the copying appears faded.
But at least it does appear they and a few other sellers have it.

I don't think it's available in algebraic - Only descriptive.

For info, the print quality in the Dover book is better than that shown by the Amazon preview. Not great quality, but decent. It's odd that the print quality of the Amazon preview would be that bad.

Descriptive notation is the old style, and algebraic notation is the new style.

    Like this:

    Short Algebraic
    1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nf6 3. Nxe5 Nxe4 4. Qe2 Nf6?? 5. Nc6+! 1-0
    Long Algebraic
    1. e2-e4 e7-e5 2. Ng1-f3 Ng8-f6 3. Nf3xe5 Nf6xe4 4. Qd1-e2 Ng8-f6?? 5. Ne5-c6+! 1-0
    Descriptive
    1. P-K4 P-K4 2. N-KB3 N-KB3 3. NxP NxP 4. Q-K2 N-KB3?? 5. N-B6ch! 1-0

Edit - Here's a detailed description of the two notation systems:
