Does anyone have any recommendations for a book on the scotch? I have been playing it without any real guidance lately, and while I like the opening, I think I need a few more ideas before Itry it in an OTB tournament.
I don't know of any books but here are a few starting points: http://www.eudesign.com/chessops/scot-app.htm http://www.chessgames.com/perl/explorer?node=62545&move=3.5&moves=e4.e5.Nf3.Nc6.d4&nodes=21720.21721.21722.21723.62545

Thanks for the recomendation. what do yo uthink of the line 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd 4. Nxd Bc5 5. Be3 Qf6 6. Nb4!? It works well in blitz but I am not sure of it's soundness overall.

Here's a possible line for black: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Bc5 5.Nxc6 Qf6 threatening mate on f2 and the knight on c6. 😀
