No, game 3. Looked to me like Anand had a win there.

Are you informed about Gelfand playing White in game 3?

Gelfand pressing as black now...is this game 4 and must win to stay in the match for Gelfand ?

Ummm....am I missing something or did Anand agree to a draw in an at least equal (but complex) position with Gelfand only having 45 seconds on his clock?
Yes, but there is an increment per move. If the position is simple enough then 30 seconds per move should be enough to hold the draw.

It's all over. Without doubt the least interesting World Championship ever (that's your cue, Pacifique).

I was greatly encouraged by the modesty of Anand in victory and by the magnanimity
of Gelfand in defeat.

Any early predictions for who the next challenger will be?

Congratulations to Anand on a second successive title defence. I felt a bit sorry for Gelfand, he looked devastated at the press conference. So many chances in the rapid games... I would have put money on him winning after landing the rook on b8 in game 3.

You have to say the defensive abilities of both players in the rapid games was superb, if maybe not the strategic element!

Seriously thinking of taking up the Rossolimo / Moscow Sicilian - positions look quite interesting and you avoid all the Open Sicilian theory. Any good up to date books out there?

There's this norwegian chap.quite young still but showing talent. If he matures a bit and gets consistent he might just have a shot.
