I never played a single game with vandervelde, but I liked his
forum posts. (He is a better writer than Greenpawn !!)

I understand why he was banned: This is pretty easy: Private web sites have rules.

Owners Rules.

(btw Fischer was banned from FIDE)

So this is why I only post once in a bluemoon.

But the thing is... there are plenty of chess web sites everywhere

RHP is a minor actor in the internet chess scene.

I don't see the need to disparage Greenpawn, who seems to be a nice guy. vandervelde was sometimes crude, but I do not see any connection to Greenpawn.

I am very bummed by the whole affair. He is unique- hard to accomplish in a meaningful way nowadays.

To make matters worse, I think I just won a tournament I did not deserve to win because of the ban. He outplayed me.

Totally agree. Greenpawn puts a lot of work into his blogs and has been doing them a long time.The comparison is uneccessary and irrelevant.

Greenpawn, loves his chess blog, He is good. But the thing is he is RHP, in the other side vandervelve represents the anti-system guy, the Rogue, the outlaw. Maybe he was banned because he would like to create his own blog. For me is clear that greenpawn is the mastermind behind the ban

I just noticed on a recent post by Vand, it didn't say account banned, it said Account Suspended. Does that mean it is temporary?
