Where did Kamsky have a mate in two, if I may ask.

I was wondering the same thing.
I didn't see it.

Nevermind, it wasn't a mate in two. I just thought that Rg7 was quite superior to Rh7, but Rh7 was obviously plenty.

One each with 4 to play,G.Kamsky avenges his white game two loss with Topalov completely outplayed on queenside for one of the rare times in his chess playing career ,leaving G.Kamsky with passed b and d pawns for a relatively simple winning endgame-----------😏

35. ... Nb4 looks like a horrible blunder which dropped two pawns, or was Black in trouble already by then?

There were 2 mistakes:

35...Nb4? lost first pawn.
37....Qf8? lost second pawn - after 37...Qxd4 38.Rxc7 Qd5! Topalov would have to work hard.

Before mistake in 35th move White had some pressure, but definitely nothing decisive.

rook d-c8 would have been enough for a difficult draw,a few just as good alternatives might have done just as well, but as stated Knight B4 loses a pawn and further not best moves cost the game. This is a well known difficult to defend black isolated D pawn game, it can be done of course but never an easy one. So Kamsky is left needing atleast one game from remaining three-two white-one black to play.--🙄

you are correct! 2 horrible moves by Kamsky. I haven't been following the games but he must be playing badly since I wouldn't have lost those 2 pawns that easily myself. It wasn't that hard to see 3-4 moves ahead. I hope it's tied after 8 and we get a few more quickie playoff games.

How is it settled?

The first to 5 wins?

Anyone know?

I think he played Nb4 because he thought that Rxd4 would lead ot Q vs 2R, not noticing that Qa8+ wins a rook. That's the only explanation I can find for his Nb4.
