This will be fun. I'm not really a fan of either, but the clash of styles should be interesting(not unlike the Kramnik-Anand match).

Kamsky has never beaten Topalov going 0-4-4 lifetime. I expect Topalov to win rather easily.

Alekhine did not have victories against Capablanca (-6=5) before their match in 1927 and some predicted that Capablanca will have no loses in their match. Before 1972 Fischer had very bad score against Spassky (-4=2). Before Petrosian - Portisch Candidates match in 1974 (which Petrosian won) their previous score was +4 =9 in Portisch`s favour.

So good results in past does not guarantee success. To be honest I`m not sure if Topalov will not repeat his mistakes and will not underestimate his opponent.

I think most folks judge kamsky on account of the fact he is American now and we're not exactly known for having multiple chess champs. Kamsky is Russian by birth, don't count him out.

I think draw will get the most wins.

I wonder what Kamsky has up his sleeves. He can't just play decent positional lines against Topalov .... he'll get crushed if he does that.

I'm expecting his strategy is to lure topalov into a won position, and then just wait until topalov gets too aggressive and throws the win away. veeery sneaky!

First game drawn. I believe Kamsky missed a win around move 29.

The first part of that strategy always works out just fine for me ..... but somehow I fail to get to the second part ... 😉

I searched but could not find a win myself, was it a tactical shot?
