The first player to reach 4 1/2 points wins the match. If it''t tied 4-4, there is probably some sort of tiebreak match at a relatively fast time control.

I like how Kamsky seems to be studying the position on the 2D overhead projection. A valid lesson to be learnt by those play online too much and don't set it up on a real board! 😀

Ah, I see the misunderstanding. I think that my comment was made around 32. ... Rc8 and taking into consideration Kamsky's time left.

But now (41. Rb8 has just been played), surely anyone would rather be white 🙂

actually he was just compensating the lack of strength (compared with Topalov) by spending more time...this is time, it happens in many sports...
the weaker players spend more effort to compensate some other abilities, and keep the games balanced even in tennis, football, etc...for the first half, after that they are overplayed...
