What do you think of this game between 1200-rateds?
I know I shouldn't have hung my horse, but I think I made quite a counterattack to his two-move mate sequence.
Still lost though, but it was one hell of a game
Game 3378851
Here's my comments:
5.Bd3 not a good move for white, it blocks the d-pawn for no good reason.
5...d4? Pushing e5 looks better taking control of the center and preparing d4.
8...c5? Don't move pawns and give them up without a good reason. All white has to do is play dxc5 followed by d4 with a great game.
9.d5? Fails to play dxc5.
12.Nh4? White could have got more from this maybe with g4 instead. But your next several moves are quite good in exploiting this mistake.
15...Qa5+ was a nice move.
17.Qd2 ends your attack. You needed more pieces in the attack. This is why it's important to develop more rapidly, so when you get chances like this you can end it then and there. Notice of your first 5 moves, 4 were pawn moves. This is what causes things like the situation at move 17, you had a nice tactical inroad to the position, but your rooks are back doing nothing, your other knight is far away etc.
24...Qxb5? gives up the knight, this loses for you combined with hanging the pawns in the beginning
30...exf3+ was a good move as you point out.
In the end he just has an extra piece and more pawns and queens one of them.
My advice, develop more rapidly and no more kamikaze pawn thrusts will help you. Look for ways to play e4 and d4 in a way that wins these squares in the center (like in move 5 playing ...e5 instead of ...d4)

anyone else laugh at that or am I the only juvenile one on here? lol 🙂
Still, you were the only one to immediately see it.
