I’m a King’s Gambit man myself (depending on what white plays obviously) it’s the only chess opening I really love - as a very wise man once said 1.e4 e5 is just no fun without 2.f4!

Against the Sicilian I play the Morra gambit usually, French whatever takes my fancy on the day and Pirc the Austrian Attack - there is no other way 😉

I aren’t a fan of d4 openings, I played it for years myself and I was always getting the same KID positions week in week out when playing OTB. If I have to face d4 as Black now, I will usually try and spice things up with a nice Budapest.

I play 1.b3. I like it because it's easy!! Not alot of theory and fun to play. I try to not to clog things up with moves like d4.

As white, I go for pseudo scotch gambit against 1...e5. Against French I play the 3.Nc3 variation. Against the sicilian I play 2.Nc3 and 3.f4 pretty much everytime.

As black, I play (occasionally) the dutch against 1.d4 otherwise I play 1...Nf6 against pretty much everything

1. f4 as not a lot of theory, it is building.

But, I prefer the Caro-Kann, recently, I discover the caro and the queen on new look, they seem really aggressive, they are both solid and sharp, and also, very aggressive, the Caro-Kann start to make me that white is normally lost, since the beginning. so a draw for white, is not so bad. as Black, the Evil one, got plenty of weapon after e4, c6.

Anyone know what is the name of d4 f6.

f6 would just be a Queens Pawn opening, waiting for a 2nd move from black to commit
to a defense.

f5 would be a dutch.

yeah 1...f6 appears to be a waiting move, but it looks like a timewaster.

it was just a curiosity...

When we talk, I love the Evans gambit and the king gambit, both are sound for me now.

I like my new gambits too...

1.f4 d5 2.Nf3 c5 3.c4 d4 4.b4 and the same thing in the dutch, maybe. But I dod not start them..

The leningrad dutch has also get my heart at some time, but since some loss, I stop playing it. for the stonewall.

From time to time, I will play the Hammerschlag. It makes no sense, but it's fun.

As white I play 1.e4, and play the Scotch against 1....e5. Against 1...c5 I play as agressively as possible, but the variation depends on what black plays. (The Yugoslav attack is my Favorite)

As black I play the Sicilian against e4, (although I have recently started experimenting with the French) and Nf6 against d4. I usually get some type of Nimzo - Indian.

When playing against just about any opening with a kingside fiachetto, as white or as black, I just castle queenside, play Be3 and Bh6, and play f3/g4/h4/h5. Works every time! (almost)

As white I play Smith Morra against the Sicilian, and Evans gambit. As black I play the Ruy Lopez and the d5 counter gambit against the Kings gambit(forget the name atm) against e4. Against d4 I play, mostly badly, any of the Indian systems or the Benko gambit.

I thought the Caro Kann was a defensive opening
