I'm curios to know, what is the highest rated player you've beaten? Please specify your internet rating if it was an internet game, and your OTB rating if it was a OTB game.

For me on Red Hot Pawn,
I think it was 1300 and my rating on RHP is 1161.

On Yahoo!, it was a 1746, and my rating on Yahoo! is 1388 (Though it was 1235 when I beat the 1746)

OTB, it was a 1397, and my rating is 1129 USCF
It was OTB, first round, cash tourny ($1200 for first), i was in 7th grade (first year of chess) and the dude was a senior (8+ years), he was 1500 something and I was 420 at the time. He had me beat, up 5 pawns, 2 rooks and a queen vs my lonely bishop, knight, 1 pawn, and queen. I perservered and won, the next day proudly claiming my $30 for 20th place. Nearly 4 years later I'm now 1252 and am hoping to keep the climb up

Back then a 16 oz soda pop was .10 maybe .15 cents. A 12 oz soda pop is .70 cents today. $35 was quite a bit of cash back then. A new car was about $2000. I read that Fischer demanded and recieved a couple of hundred dollars for chess lessons in the 60s.

Looking over my archives, I seem to have gotten a win against Capa (currently 1870), I had forgotten about that game!

That sort of gives the lie to your profile...🙂

I used to go to the same club as Vic Knox
I beet Vic when he was about 230 BCF!! I never got above 105 BCF.
I think he was bickering with his son (Dave) at the time and let me in.
He was a great player and is still greatly missed in Manchester.
