I've been playing a game with a 1816 dude for a week now and he is not accepting an obvious draw just because his rating is higher. We are just moving our kings around for no reason. How pathetic is that?I offered a draw 3 times and he won't accept. What is it with you people above 1800 and you think less of us?You really think you are smarter just because you care more about chess than we do?

If you aren't able to claim the draw, then it's within the rules.
Perhaps he is trying to time you out? This is also within the rules.

Time is a major part of the game of chess. Timing someone out is all part of it. I haven't looked at the game in question.

I know it is a major part of chess but when i see people trying to built their rating with inappropriate ways hiding behind the site rules , i just feel sorry for them. They care more about their ''fake'' rating than chess itself...

I've just looked at the game in question Game 4414755 and won't say anything about it because it's a game in progress.

But I think you should keep your mouth shut and don't say anything you may have to apologise for later.

As the player without the bare K, your opp doesn't have anything to lose by rejecting a draw offer. Time management aside, worst case for him you draw. Best case he wins either because there's a forced win there or because there isn't but you screw up and give him the win. So either way he risks nothing by playing it out, while you act like an @ss by begging for the draw and whining about the game in a public forum.

Personally, regardless of the merit of the position, I'd play it out until I either beat you or you forced the draw, even if that meant the 50 move rule. Just for acting like a whiny cry baby about it I'd make you suffer. And enjoy it. And I'd do it regardless of your rating because I'd have nothing to lose there anyway and IMHO you deserve it. But that's just me. 🙂

Then just show him you know how. He is playing on to see if you know this. Won't be long until a 3 -fold repetition comes up if he hasn't won it.

Is only 1 day per move, no timebank so he could still win on time whereas you cannot so he has nothing to gain just yet agreeing a draw.

I am not begging for a draw dude i earned it!!!You should get a life instead of making others suffer and enjoy it as you say.Chess is a game we should all enjoy. You should think i'm a cry baby since you have a higher rating than me...well i got news for you...rating means nothing in here. It's the way you people responde that tells everything about you.Look at the arrogant answer you gave and then look at the one below yours.I say noone is smarter or better than me till he proves me wrong.

Its not a rating thing. Its an asking repeatedly and then whining in a public forum about it when its declined thing. As you have the bare K the onus is on you and not your opponent to prove the game drawn. Since even GMs, against other GMs, have played out similar simple endings there is nothing wrong with any opponent, regardless of rating, expecting you to demonstrate that it is drawn and that you know how to draw it. And you demonstrate that on the board, not in a forum.

Even, this one, for example.

Game 4079590 It is always worth testing your opponents defences, no matter how strong he is - after a long hard game you never know if they might crack and blunder in the late stages.

You miss the point.I've been in here for 5 months and i've just had enough with people taking advantage of the time rules to force a result.I didn't demonstrate the game.I am setting an example.I didn't give away the game ID and i am not begging for anything.I've had many games like this...I am just wondering why do higher rated people think less of us...?
