Too funny.
Did I say something like: "Excuse me,the reference percentages are too low(or too high),you should only consider engines top choice, and 30 seconds isn't enough."?

Perhaps I read more into what you wrote?

ou guys worked out a system you think is sound,he applies it,you accept the results as true. That's always going to be a 100% score

I apologize if I read too much into what you wrote... since there is no way for me to know HOW you are saying it.

Wrong. If that was true then this thread wouldn't even be here, the mods wouldn't have to sheepishly remove thread after thread about engine cheats on the site/cheating allegations, and the cludi thing would have been resolved one way or another.

Wrong. One can only *guess* at the site admins true motivations for not promptly banning cheats.

Then its a pity the kill button is not being hit.

Actually if you realise I was being sarcastic then I am of course, right!

Yup, I just didn't put it in this thread. It is in the Chess forum and is called "Do CC players play like engines?"

Well eldragonfly did not take up my challenge and send me a game.

I was PM’d a few games by other lads and having looked at the games and the names
I am 80/20 convinced an engine is ticking over in their games.

But the more I think about it and having just read the rantings, the figures, the
claims and counter claims on this thread. I’ve come to the conclusion…

…So What?

Eldragonfly states 1/3 to 2/3 of the top players are suspected engine users.

What is a top player? Someone with a national grade of over 2000 is a top/strong player.
On RHP there are 183 players graded over 2000. Let us say they are ALL cheats.

(I am not saying they are all cheats, I'm not saying any of them are cheats)

That leaves 19109 (19292 – 183) players under 2000 who are NOT cheating.

That is 0.09% Hardly the epidemic that eldragonfly claims.

But I’m not having a go at eldragonfly – It’s the lot of you. Simply forget it.

I’ve turned, I’ve changed my mind.
I thought everyone on here would be plugging in and thought what is the point of playing.
But I’ve played over 100’s of games and see that 99% of you
do not plug-in. (if you do then update your software).

The cheats (as stated by chessworld.com) will end up only playing each other.

Also it’s impossible to catch them all. You will never totally eradicate cheating.

Of course the idiots who use a box for every move will stand out a mile.

But what about the guy who thinks there may be a trick in the position or
is thinking about a saccing a piece – if he has the latest Fritz/Rybka then there is
a strong chance he will use it to check his variation.

Then what? Do you start giving combinations an evaluation?

Lighten up – forget it – shrug your shoulders and move on.

What is a top player?...
To be precise, about 15 from page 1 of the player tables I'm sad to say.

If you think 1850 is a top player OK that makes 450 top players.

That is 3% (rounded up).

yeah. that's not the way I'd like rhp to be. the cheats must be dealt with.
