That's the longest sequence indeed - the problem combines Marshall's brilliancy and Anastasia's mate.

White to move.
I'd say 1. Ne7+ Kh8 2. Ng6+! Kg8 (2. ... Qxg6 3. Qxg6 fxg6 4. Rxf8🙄 3. Rxf7 Qxg6 (3. ... Rxf7 4. Qe8+ Rf8 9. Qxf8🙄 4. Rxf8+ Kxf8 5. Rf1+ Ke7 6. Qxc4 and it looks pretty bad for black. White is up in material, black's king is pretty exposed. Black can force an exchange via 5. ... Qe6 but white should win the endgame.

EDIT: eh, wrong.

but black is a piece up in this:
1. Ne7+ Kh8 2. Ng6+! 2. ... Qxg6 3. Qxg6 fxg6 4. Rxf8 Kxf8

4. ... Kxf8 is impossible, the king is on h8.

EDIT: Anyway, the one I posted isn't the real solution. While I was typing, Qg6 was posted and shown as mate in a few moves.

true, I somehow viewed it as:
1. Ne7+ Kh8 2. Ng6+! Kg8 (2. ... Qxg6 3. Qxg6 fxg6 4. Rxf8
with all the moves 🙂

Well, yeah, that's how it was written. The part in parentheses (2. ... Qxg6 ...) is to show why should 2. ... Kg8 be played instead of the move in parentheses (2. ... Qxg6) due to mate threats.

1. Re8+ Be7 2. Bd8 Qb4 3. Bxe7 looks bad for black.

Hmm indeed, that's a sidesolution, but I guess it doesn't lead to mate in six. (still this counts as solved I suppose)

Yes, indeed. And what would follow after 2. ... Qd7?
