I have played at ICC total of six years, but not since 2007. My highest 5-minute rating there was ~1800. I've been over 1900 blitz at Playchess but am in a slump at the present, briefly hitting 1700 yesterday.

wulebgr is still a few hundred points better at blitz, but I'm slowly getting there. my peak ICC blitz is 1591 maybe a week ago, and 5-minute 1506 from last june (after which I haven't touched it).

do you still have your ICC account? - I've been recently winning quite a lot of people who have 2000-2200 top blitz ratings from only 3-4 years ago, and now manage only 1600-1700. so I've been wondering whether there's been some kind of change in the pool(s). in the 5-minute pool it's quite possible, but in the older blitz pool it seems a bit implausible.

edit: incidently a peer rated friend of mine just won 'bende', who has current blitz rating 1763 with top rating 2183 from nov 2007. there seems to be so many guys like this?

the first thing that catches my eye, is that they look much more solid than my games. if it's anything to go by, there probably hasn't been much change in the rating levels.

First, you type up all the moves. Then you edit the post and add the word "board!" Don't forget the exclamation point. It's very very important.

When in doubt, it is better to simplify than to over-intellectualize.

But nothing beats endgames where you can switch to "autopilot". 😛
