I'm surprised no one has said Kasparov yet. He is usually mentioned first or second

Kramnik and Carlsen, in that order. The first for his style, amazing accuracy, fighting spirit and general character, the second mostly for fighting spirit and amazingly fast improvement.

to wormwood and erekose, my guy beat your guy today 🙂

Carlsen is easy to get excited about. Excellent tactical skill, good positional play and deep opening novelties (he must study a lot).

Kramnik is just dull. He plays very correct chess and doesn't flinch from a fight when its the best option (unlike, say, Leko), but its typically dull.

Morozevich isn't quite in the same class as Kramnik (I don't think so, anyway), but he's made him look bad several times. Not today, though.

I agree with that, off beat enough, with shades of Tony Miles who gets my vote.

    In no particular order

Swiss Gambit - for his dazzling cooperative games
Green Pawn - for his unsound combinations
Nowa Kowski - for his inventive way of chess mastery

I think Karjakin and Aronian has to be two most undervaulued GMs.

Karjakin won the 09 Corus with Surprise and Aronian has been on top of every tournament he participated, i think both are sub 2750.

    😳 ...sowwy

[whispering]But you gotta realise, if I let everyone know you're my favourite chess player...and give reasons why...then they're all gonna be lining up to play chess with you...and then you'd be neglecting me, Robbie! 😠😳:'(😞😀😵 [/whispering]

    1- Capablanca 2- Carlsen 3- Morphy 4- Kasparov

I used to love Kasparov more than that but sometimes he has some personality flaws I can't put up with.

Capa is THE chess legend! So cocky and cool. Capa and Morphy were probably the 2 best naturals of the game.
