Someone once famously made one or two derogatory comments about women and chess. Whilst I do not wish to revisit those unfortunate incidents see the game below where a young girl scores a win.

women have nearly the same rights and everything we do...
so it doesn't really matter anymore...
and yes, men are better chess players...
i am quoting that remark from a female grad student who plays chess...
women will never be as good as men, but men will never be as good of teachers as women...
it's just the way it works

2) Women will never be as good as men how? Pain tolerance, stamina, neural density of pre-frontal lobes, spelling, are these what you're thinking of?

Even after reading this paper, it's still hard for me to believe their hypothesis. But, numbers are numbers, and as the paper points out, in the few locations in the USA where female chess players aren't outnumbered by male chess players, there was no significant difference between male and female ratings. The paper suggests to me that, although there may be other reasons why women's chess ratings aren't as high as men's ratings, it isn't because of a difference in chess skill between the two sexes.
And as far as your comment, "women have nearly the same rights and everything we do...", what century are you living in? 🙂

only major diferrence being that women are slightly underpayed in comparison to men...
that and the fact that women can't whizz on a tree...
i'm mainly referring to America...
other places, particularly the middle eastern and other Islamic nations, place women lower...
Islam holds them lower than cows...

so many men throughout history are simply better than the highest women, there is simply no comparison...
tal, spassky, fischer, kasparov, botvinnik, morphy, nakamura, gata kamsky
i would favor any of these over Susan Polgar or her sister
the numbers of better men chess players demonstrate that it's not just a 1 in a thousand chance occurence...

Theoretically woman could be equal to men on the chessboard but the world's best player has always been a man so thus far men are better than women
The best Women's basketball team could beat a bunch of guys in the park but they couldn't beat the LA Lakers- its the same thing
