Maybe this guy is swift on his feet and Norman hasn't been able to catch him yet.
I'm not sure exactly what kind of chess study this is, and whether Geoff has to spend "one-on-one" time with the members. If it's not labor-intensive for him, I guess I could sign up just to see what it's all about. (As long as I don't have to work too much, lol. )

I put a little time into analyzing a game. I'm good at analyzing things but too lazy to be a strong player, so I think it's a good thread to look at for a noob.
I'm back - MR was right I had to go to Hamilton for the last
day of the Scottish.
Only people who are invited to Bates Motel can join so
I've knocked back the others. Some are too good to join.
There are just a couple fo threads Grit and Darax need to see.
One-to-one won't happen much as I'm terribly busy again.
(something very nice has happened and I have to do another Corner....
No.Wrong words.....I want to do another Corner).
They have their own threads to ask questions in which I'll look at.
Before pressing 'SEND':
Check all Checks is looking at every check on the board home and away.
Even the crazy silly ones. You will get ideas and stop blunders.
Then you do a scan for unprocted pieces home away to see if there is
any way you can profit from this.
Or is your opponent about to lift an unprotected bit for nothing.
Then that unforced pawn move you have just played and are to
about to 'send'. take it back and move a piece instead.

I never removed my bookmark to Cornered... I thought you might add another every now and then for special occasions, and I don't want to miss any of them. 🙂

I actually systematically used this OTB in the Central Florida Chess Championship last January, went 4.5/5 in the section, and won $400.
When I apply it here, I win. When I don't, suddenly a 1500-rated RHP player who challenged me pats themselves on the back for making the challenge.

:'(
back when I started, I took up systematically blunder checking every piece against 1-move blunders, first mine and then the opponent's. went from dropping a piece in every 3rd game to about a piece in every 30th game. literally over night. the effect is visible in my graph, shooting up from a steady 1550 to 1700+.
kept doing it for a few months, and at some point it became unconscious.
edit: well, that and doing a hundred thousand tactical puzzles...
